Cannes, 10 October 2007 – MIPCOM announces the winners of the MIPCOM Mobile & Internet TV Awards 2007. The international trophies were awarded yesterday evening in a packed auditorium at the 23rd annual MIPCOM (8 - 12 October, 2007, Palais des Festivals, Cannes). The winning titles were chosen by an international grand jury from a
total of 32 nominated projects.

By creating and hosting the Mobile TV Awards at MIPCOM we aim to play an active role in promoting the development of made-for-mobile content and facilitating commercial transactions on a global level for both TV and film."
MIPCOM announced yesterday evening the winners of this year’s Mobile TV Screening & Awards, hosted by dynamic and fun Valli (French national radio presenter), at the well known Palais des Festivals for the 22nd edition of the world’s audiovisual content market. The international trophies were awarded in a packed auditorium and winning titles chosen by an international grand jury from a total of 23 nominated projects. In addition to the grand jury awards, a Grand Prize for Best Innovation in Mobile Content was awarded by Orange.

Mobile TV is billed in different ways: video on demand, billing based on volume of exchanged data, free of charge (programs financed by advertising) and monthly subscriptions with unlimited access. According to the markets actors, all billing modes are compatible, and apply to different targets. Linear broadcasting (a mobile channel that streams the same program all day) unveils the program to users whereas video on demand applies to fans who know what they want to watch…

In mobile TV, all genres of programs can be found and users are faced with a large number of shows featuring very different content and very different billing techniques. Most of the landmark shows on regular TV have their spin-off on mobiles. Recent productions anticipate upstream activities and film exclusive scenes during the TV show’s production. Regular TV channels are positioned on the medium like they are on the Internet and they offer mobile users the possibility to continue to watch their shows on tiny screens…
